WHO WE ARE

Based in Lower Kingswood, Tadworth and established in 2006 by Vivian; Books and Business originally offered a virtual secretarial service and data entry to companies looking for a bit of extra help. Vivian gainer her Level 2 AAT Bookkeeping qualification in 2009 which then added a full bookkeeping service to the business.

Vivian went on to complete her AAT qualification completing Level 4 in early 2017 and has continued to build her bookkeeping experience by also working as a Bookkeeping Manager for a local Accountants practice running a bookkeeping team of 4.

WHAT WE DO

Vivian has a vast amount of experience looking after a variety of businesses in all different sectors including (but not limited to) electrical, second hand car dealers, beauticians and construction.

Vivian is at her happiest dealing with day to day bookkeeping queries and issues, and is always on hand to assist clients that do their own bookkeeping with any queries they might have. Vivian enjoys providing clients with specific training to make their lives easier and save them time by being more productive and knowledgeable doing their own bookkeeping.

We cannot recommend Vivian from Books and Business enough! She has worked with us for a few years now and her help has proved to be a real asset without having a full-time member of staff. We are a small business but growing at a good pace so before we started using her services we were slightly disorganised in the accounts department due to not having enough time to manage our bookkeeping in the most efficient way. Vivian came in and immediately impressed us with her well rounded knowledge, experienced approach and systems implementation, it has been a big weight lifted off our shoulders and has left us to focus on pushing the business forward in the areas we should be moving into without the hassle of having to worry about the Books

Plans for ID verification from Companies House

Starting in early 2025, Companies House will begin rolling out new identity verification requirements for company directors and persons with significant control (PSCs). This means that, in the future, before filing information on the Companies House register, directors will need to prove their identity. This change is designed to reduce fraud and improve transparency. The reforms are part of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, which aims to combat fraudulent activity. As part of these reforms, accountancy firms and solicitors registered for anti-money laundering (AML) supervision will be among the first required to comply, starting in early 2025. By spring 2025, accountants and other professional service providers, who are registered for AML supervision, will be able to become authorised corporate service providers (ACSPs). This means they’ll be able to help clients verify their identities and pass that information on to Companies House. By autumn 2025, these new ID verification requirements will be mandatory for new directors and PSCs when setting up a company or making new appointments. If your business already exists, you will have a 12-month transition period until autumn 2026 to ensure your directors and PSCs comply with these requirements when your next confirmation statement is due. This is a significant change, therefore it’s important to stay ahead of these requirements to avoid any disruptions to your business.
